From my studio in Devon I make one-off wedding dresses in a style that is informed by historical and vintage styles, with whimsical and romantic detailing that will make you feel like you’ve just stepped out of a romance novel. From picking out your inspiration, sketching and picking fabric, all the way through to fittings and finishes, you’ll get to fall in love with your dress over and over. What does a bespoke Ailsa Munro dress cost?

My bespoke dresses cost in the range of £2000-£2500, depending on the style, level of detail and fabric chosen. This is similar to buying a dress in a boutique- instead of the traditional Big Boutique experience your money is spent on high quality fabrics, thoughtful design and ethical production practices.

Do I need to travel for fittings?

For my couture service, a fully fitted gown, you will likely need to travel to 4 or more fittings at my home studio in Devon. However, I am aware that this is unfeasible for many of my brides so if you are further away we can do a Made To Measure gown, which is made to your measurements but may require further fitting by a bridal seamstress in your area.

How do I know if I'll love my dress when I'm ordering it from a sketch?

Having a dress made is so different to having one that you can try on first and people often feel a little apprehensive that it won’t be flattering- I have years of experience that have taught me that you’ll love your dress because it’s uniquely your own. Every element of it has been chosen by you- with my guidance where necessary- and you watch your dress come to life from sketch, to toile, to beautifully finished gown.
