Solicitor Maisie and Electrician Jimmy married at North Yorkshire’s Middleton Lodge in late May 2025, a time when this exquisite country estate feels so alive and full of light and beautiful blooms.
Talking of blooms, floral Designer Nat of Feverfew worked some serious magic for this lovely wedding from – her designs brought the whole place to life using colour and movement in a way that felt completely in tune with the season and surroundings. Her breathtakingly beautiful floral artistry carried through the church, the gardens and the Fig House where an elegant reception was held.
Maisie’s wore a head-turning Jessica Bennet dress featuring an oversized detachable statement bow – a design detail she adored from the moment she discovered her dress.

Middleton Lodge
We had our reception at the Fig House and Walled Gardens at Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire, which is the only venue we viewed. We’d seen it in Living North magazine and as soon as we were there, we knew it was the one.
We didn’t hire an event planner – though our florist, Feverfew, styled the tables beautifully.

The Dress
Jessica Bennett
I wore the Stella dress and Stace bow train from Jessica Bennett. I had seen the Stella dress online and couldn’t stop thinking about it so I visited Jessica at her boutique in Liverpool, which is stunning, to try it on and knew straight away it was the one.
We paired it with the Stace bow train, which is removable. I moved the bow down to my waist for our first dance, before fully removing it for the dance floor. The whole experience from start to finish was so special, and I would recommend Jessica and her team to any bride – Jessica and her team are so talented.

I wanted my dress to be simple, timeless and something I felt special in.
I also wore the gathered plain veil, also from Jessica Bennett.

I wore the Jimmy Choo Skye 70 satin mules which were sooo comfy! I swapped into some Zara heels for the dancefloor so they wouldn’t get ruined.
My Mum bought me the gold pearl earring hoops as a wedding present, and Jimmy got me the gold diamond sweetheart signet ring to wear on the day – all from Daniella Draper. I also wore my late Granny’s gold watch which my Mum surprised me with the day before (so I didn’t ruin my makeup on the day!).

My scent was Maison Margiela’s Replica On a Date. Daniella Ingle of Daniella Makeup & Hair was my hair and makeup artist.
My bridesmaids dresses were a mixture of high street dresses in shades of pink. Susie wore Forever New, Ginny wore & Other Stories, Yasmin Monsoon and Bobby wore Pretty Lavish.

The Ceremony
My dad walked me down the aisle. Luckily, we were both more emotional at the rehearsal than we were on the day. We opted for the traditional entrance of the bride being followed by her bridesmaids (which our vicar advised was so the bridesmaids can protect the bride!). My processional song was the traditional bridal march – Wagner’s Bridal Chorusm played by the church organist.
We always knew we wanted a church wedding and luckily there is a gorgeous church just around the corner from the Estate, down a quaint single country lane. My late Uncle is called Michael so once we found out it was called the Church of St Michaels and All Angels, we knew it was meant to be!
Jimmy and his groomsmen wore a navy double breasted suit from Hawes & Curtis.
My engagement ring is bespoke Daniella Draper, which is where we both got our wedding bands. Daniella started her brand in Cleethorpes which is where Jimmy and I are from.
My best friend Ginny read an extract from Dolly Alderton’s Everything I Know About Love, which we chose together. It was actually a book I read whilst Ginny and I were on holiday together in 2018! My maid of honour Susie read 1 Corinthians 13 which is a lovely description of love.

Photography & Videography
We found our photographer, Nell Malia, through Feverfew’s Instagram as they had worked together before. We loved Nell’s style – honest, real and timeless photography that isn’t posed.

The Reception
We have Nat at Feverfew to thank for our wedding flowers. She is a floral magician! I have never seen flowers so beautiful.
The initial brief was to capture the beauty of late Spring and early Summer, with fresh garden flowers, in a spectrum of tones. Keeping a relaxed Garden style with lots of frilly, frothy flowers.

Colourful tones from flowers such as Peonies, Ranunculus, Delphinium and Roses. Softened with delicate wild flowers such as Daisies, Corncokle and Sweetpeas. Everything Nat and her team created for the day was perfect and I wish the flowers could have lasted forever.
All of our wedding stationery is the Matilda Goad scallop border collection at Papier. Our wedding favours were a small white personalised box of Lily O’Briens chocolates.

Evening & Dancing
For the drinks reception we had Andy, a vinyl DJ, from Wedding Jam and for the evening we went for Club Mojo Band and DJ and Sax from Johnny Ross.
Our first dance was to Beyond, by Leon Bridges, because we both love Leon and the lyrics are so beautiful.
Words of Wedded Wisdom
Make sure the day is perfect for you and your partner and nobody else. The day is about you and the love that you share, so make sure it is how you want it to be as you will probably never get this opportunity again. The most important thing is that you are both happy!
We did go over budget, but it was all worth it.
